ROOKIE OF THE YEAR

Wayde Marsh

All first year guards are required to complete a rigorous 6-week training course.  Training consists of beach and water workouts as well as cognitive assessments that test CPR and First Aid knowledge.  Each workout lasts between 1.5 hrs to 3 hrs per day, Monday through Friday.  All rookies must pass the traditional Rookie Test to officially become a member of the Rehoboth Beach Patrol.  The Rookie Test is a 2-day, 10 event competition in which the winner is declared the patrol’s Rookie-of-the-Year.  The winner receives a paid day off and the Captains Plaque.  Congratulations to Wayde Marsh for being selected this year’s Rookie-of-the-Year.
